Eligibility Criteria for admission to degree Honours and general course:
Applicant must have passed at least in five subjects with English and Environmental Studies as compulsory subjects in the H.S. (10+2) or equivalent examination recognized by the University of North Bengal.
Candidates applying for Honours Courses require 55% of marks in the aggregate or 50% marks in the aggregate with 60% marks in the subject applying for Honours at the H.S. or equivalent examination.
For S.C./S.T. candidates, the minimum marks for eligibility shall be (i) 50% marks in the aggregate or (ii) 45% in the aggregate with 60% in the Subject. ''For admission to the Course B.A. (Hons.) B.Sc. (Hons.), B.Com (Hons.), SC or ST candidates getting admission should have in the previous examinations qualifying marks, which are not lower by more than 25% from the marks obtained, by the last candidate of the general category. The candidates included in the general merit list will not be counted towards these reserved quota."
The admission process is
totally computerized and it is done through counselling. Admission is done strictly on the
basis of merit. The admission committee of the college, which consists of the principal,
IQAC coordinator, Teachers’ Council Secretary, the Heads of the Departments, few nonteaching
staff and G.S of the students’ Union, plays an important role in framing out the
admission criteria based on the guidelines of North Bengal University and
recommendations of the departments of the college. The student intake capacity for each
course and the norms for preparing merit lists are displayed in the college notice board.
